σε μια ομαδική επίκληση για την άνοδο της κουλτούρας της αποδοχής,

και την πτώση της κουλτούρας του ελέγχου.

Magic Bezesteni is an art project presenting contemporary artists at the office of ElMago art ’n’ design (www.elmago.world), at the historic oriental market of Bezesteni, Thessaloniki. The art is visible from outside the space through the glass facade. Αs you don’t enter the space, no health certificate is required to see this art exhibition.

Το Magic Bezesteni είναι ένα καλλιτεχνικό project που παρουσιάζει σύγχρονους καλλιτέχνες στο γραφείο του ElMago art ’n’ design (www.elmago.world), στο ιστορικό κτίριο του Μπεζεστενίου, στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Tα έργα είναι ορατά από έξω, από τη γυάλινη πρόσοψη. Δεν πραγματοποιείται είσοδος εντός έτσι δεν απαιτείται επίδειξη υγειονομικού πιστοποιητικού για να δείτε αυτήν την έκθεση τέχνης.

Ellis Bell as Emily (2018-2021)

To μυθιστόρημα “Ανεμοδαρμένα Ύψη” της Emily Bronte εκδόθηκε για πρώτη φορά με το ανδρικό ψευδώνυμο Ellis Bell. Πίσω από την προφανή ιστορία αγάπης και πάθους, αγγίζει θέματα όπως η πατριαρχία και άλλες κοινωνικές και ηθικές μορφές καταπίεσης, τη διαιώνισή τους κάτω από έναν αέναο κύκλο βίας, καθώς και την προσπάθεια για την υπέρβασή τους. Στο έργο της, Ellis Bell as Emily (λάδι, ρητίνη σε καμβά,140χ140εκ., 2018-2021), η Ράνια Εμμανουηλίδου αντιστοίχως πραγματεύεται και ανατρέπει τη λειτουργία συμβόλων και διπόλων όπως θύτης- θύμα, αρσενικό - θηλυκό, φθορά- αφθαρσία, ενώ ο τίλτος του έργου κλείνει το μάτι σε ζητήματα ταυτότητας φύλου.

Μαζί παρουσιάζει το γλυπτό “Ghost” (πηλός, βερνίκι, χρώμα πορσελάνης, πολυεστέρας, 2019), που ανήκει στην ίδια σειρά έργων “Degeneration”.

Aπό Δευτέρα 27 Οκτωβρίου μέχρι 15 Νοεμβρίου.

Emily’s Bronte novel “Wuthering Heights” was first published under the male pseudonym Ellis Bell.

Under the obvious story of love and passion, it touches subjects as patriarchy and other social and ethical forms of suppression, their perpetuation through a vicious cycle of violence, as well as the effort to overcome them. In her work, Ellis Bell as Emily (oil, resin on canvas, 140x140cm. 2-18-2021), Rania Emmanouilidou, respectively negotiates and reverses symbols and dipoles such as victim - abuser, male - female, decay-perpetuity, while the title is a reference to gender identity issues.

Τogether she presents her sculpture “Ghost” (clay, varnish, porcelain colour, polyester, 2019) that belongs to the same series of works, “Degeneration”.

O Kωσταντίνος Λαδιανός σπούδασε στη Θεσσαλονίκη και έζησε εδώ πολλά χρόνια, καθώς την αγάπησε. Αγάπησε και το Μπεζεστένι, απ'όπου ψώνιζε υφάσματα και κλωστές για τα κεντήματά του. Τώρα εκθέτει σ'αυτό ένα κέντημα*.

Kostantinos Ladianos studied in Thessaloniki and stayed here for many years, as he got to love the city. He got to love Bezesteni as well, and used to go there to shop textiles and threads for his embroidery. Now he exhibits one at it*.
